This is a solid afternoon's work for Beau, a bloodhound we see as a patient.
Blood hounds are great pets, and this dog and his sister are owned by a police officer. These canine sleuths are famous for their ability to track humans for great distances and have been bred for tracking since at least the middle ages. Originally bred for hunting deer, wild boar, and since the Middle Ages for tracking people, the bloodhound is descended from hounds once kept at the Abbey of Saint-Hubert, Belgium. It is known to French speakers as the Chien de Saint-Hubert.
